Health Food Marketing Hype
The people at eDietshop go to the grocery store just as all Americans do and see the marketing hype that is conveyed on our local store shelves. There are a lot products that convey Fat-Free status but in reality there are other issue related to that product that just make it unhealthy.
Mens Health has a good article on looking past the hype:
"Take a moment and consider this logic: 1. Fat-free foods are healthy. 2. Skittles are fat-free. 3. Therefore, Skittles are healthy. Make sense? Of course not. But it's exactly the type of reasoning that food manufacturers want you to use. Just b/c the label says it's good for you doesn't mean it is. Here's how to read beyond the marketing hype..."
At eDietshop we do not sell products that fall under the category that this article scrutinizes, we care about our customers health. We would never sell Fat-Free Skittles, but we do sell Fat-Free, Sugar-Free, Low Calorie Jelly Beans.

A pill to prevent type 1 diabetes
A pill that is in the trial stage has the potential to prevent type 1 diabetes for at risk patients. The pill consists of insulin. The simplicity of the idea for preventing this disease is astounding and hopefully in 5-8 years this study will come into fruition.
"Researchers at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC are participating in an international clinical trial currently underway to study the effectiveness of oral insulin in preventing or delaying the onset of type 1 diabetes in people at risk for the disease."

The best fast food
Many people today, including personal friends, require themselves to make sacrifices and not eat the healthiest food possible. These reasons might be because of preference, a personal addiction to fast food, or because one may not be able to afford anything other then fast food. A website called Calorie Counter has compiled a list of every fast food companies main products and catagorized the list according to products (ex. burger, fries...) This is very interesting because the calories of companies product might possibly be lower then the product that one may be making from scratch at home. Of particular interest, I found that the lowest calorie fries that one can get happen to be at Sonic with a calorie count of 280.
